Italian police have carried out a wide-ranging anti-drug operation, cracking down on a narcotics trafficking network operating between Italy and Spain.

During the operation, 10 people were arrested and several kilograms of cocaine and other narcotics were seized.

According to the Busto Arsizio police, the organization was made up of Albanian, Romanian and Italian citizens. In total, over 3 kilograms of cocaine, hashish, heroin, packaging materials and around 5 thousand euros in cash were seized.

The operation was carried out on November 12, in the areas of Varese, Alto Milanese and in the provinces of Pavia, Monza and Aosta, with the participation of several police teams and units with anti-drug dogs. Detention orders were executed for seven Albanian citizens and one Italian, while other arrests were made in flagrante during the checks.

The investigations lasted about two years and began after observing the distribution of cocaine in the Busto Garolfo and Busto Arsizio areas.

During the investigation, apartments used as premises for drug preparation, vehicles registered in the names of other persons, and meeting points at several businesses were identified.
